At the age of 2, Erin started spinning and jumping around the house prompting her mom to put her in dance class. She started dancing competitively at the age of 5 as the youngest dancer in a Hawaiian dance routine. For the next 20 years, she competed and performed in a wide variety of dance styles, her favorite being Jazz. She won numerous group and solo awards throughout her high school years and took the title of Miss Starbound and Miss Starpower. After graduating high school, she received a dance scholarship for, and joined, the Towson University Dance Team. With her collegiate team, she brought home 4 consecutive National Dance Alliance Championships.
Although dance was a passion, her life’s dream was to become a physical therapist. She received her B.S. from Towson University in Biology and went on to Columbia University to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While in school she helped grow and eventually become president of the medical school’s dance club.
Finding a substitute for dance as an adult in the suburbs was difficult and frustrating. She tried a regular gym, yoga, barre, and boxing, continuing to ignore her (now) husband’s suggestions of joining him in CrossFit. She finally caved in 2015 and never turned back. She will still tell you that CrossFit is the closest thing to competitive collegiate dance than anything else she has tried!
Her and her husband moved to Philly in 2017 and joined the Novem Family. Joe and Lesha have been instrumental in the growth of her company, Lionheart Physical Therapy. In March 2019, she decided to get her CF Level 1 and was able to become a Novem Coach. She continues to love the intensity and variety of CrossFit and is so happy to be working with such a great team!
